Taoxichuan Art Center Lecture invited Artist-in-Residence Hector M. Flores to present a lecture on the theme of " Taoxichuan Glass experience " at 19:00 on Saturday, 15th June 2024 at the Taoxichuan Glass Studio - Hot Glass Performance Hall.

In this lecture, the artist will share his first experience of coming to China, which is mainly based on the artist's experience of working on glass sculptures at Taoxi Chuan Glass Studio

This lecture is intended to be an open and interactive sharing session, where audience are encouraged to ask questions and engage at any point.

Hector M. Flores proposes the material and the immaterial. Through glass, he makes sculptures that seem to be solid statements about a material that is recognised in human experience as "transparent". He uses glass to create objects that are visualised as solid and liquid parts, obstacles and translucent parts that block the passage of light, as well as areas through which light passes, is intercepted, reflected and refracted.

His "Universe Serie" is based on a personal interpretation of the origin and development of the universe, as well as of cosmic phenomena and stellar objects. Likewise, it examines the behaviour of light (reflection, refraction, propagation) and its interaction with matter and space.
