Melnikov had many Solo Exhibitions and Group Exhibitions around the world including, Austria, Italy, Germany, Russia, USA and China. In the year 2023 he participated in two Museum exhibitions in Vienna “On the road again” at the Künstlerhaus and “Über das Neue” at the Belveder 21. His first travel to Chin happened also in the Year 2023 on behalve of the Delta Institute to the City of Hangzhou where he had his Artistic residence and Soloshow at the GoDown art Space. He works since 2019 with the established Gallery Lisi Hämmerle in Bregenz, AT, where he had his second solo show 2022.
As an artist he works in the media of ceramics, sculptures, installations, graphics and performances. He develops both metaphysical and physical environments or artifacts to tell emotional and intellectual stories. In doing so, Melnikov creates his own visual and theoretical language, which is in itself a constantly growing metaphorical vocabulary
One of the Important Topics currently for his Artworks is the shell as a definition for the space between inside and outside, and the projection of this metaphor on current social developments. Further his personal transformation and parallel life as a curator are frequently reflected in his artistic practice.
As a curator, he produced exhibitions and happenings to confront and connect people, blur the boundaries between curator and producer, create space for interaction, and intensify the experience of art.
