Taoxichuan Art Center Lecture invited Artist-in-Residence Theodora Tsirakoglouto present a lecture on the theme of "THE CHILD AND THE ARTIST" at 19:30 on Wednesdays, 4th December 2024 at the Taoxichuan S3 Multi-media Room(2nd floor）.

In this lecture, Theodora Tsirakoglou will share her learning experience and creative inspiration in ceramics and introduce her studio. As a finalist in several Ceramic Competitions, she will share how She creates and design her own artworks and her goals for this visit to Jingdezhen.

This lecture is intended to be an open and interactive sharing session, where audience are encouraged to ask questions and engage at any point.

Theodora Tsirakoglou

Theodora Tsirakoglou's creations draw inspiration from industrial components and everyday objects. Her sculptures emphasise form and balance and are reminiscent of children's toys or mechanical parts.

Theodora Tsirakoglou, now residency in Jingdezhen, uses porcelain as a material and maintains the geometric shapes she loves to capture stories with her work. She utilises light and materials to create transparency, which reveals more detail. Often times, she uses a golden sheen to emphasise the details she wants to highlight, giving a sense of luxury and exclusivity.
