The China Jingdezhen Ceramic Exhibition themed "A Ceramic Tour on the Silk Road" has recently opened at the China Cultural Centre in Sydney, Australia, and will be on display until June 22. This exhibition represents another important international showcase for Jingdezhen ceramic art, following its European tour in 2024.
As a key cultural exchange project marking the 53rd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Australia, this exhibition displays 23 pieces and sets (comprising 51 pieces) of representative Jingdezhen ceramic artworks to showcase the timeless artistry of Jingdezhen ceramics to the Australian audience. Additionally, the exhibition features live demonstrations of intangible cultural heritage ceramic techniques, as well as interactive experiences in ceramic painting and wheel throwing, allowing both Chinese and international guests to immerse themselves in the joy of creating ceramic art.
David Reid, an Australian contemporary artist, expressed his admiration on-site: "The quality of these works is truly astonishing! As ‘Yangjingpiao’, having resided in Jingdezhen for years, I look forward to seeing more Jingdezhen artworks come to Sydney. I also have even greater expectations for this year's '1819 Global Ceramic Carnival' event in Jingdezhen."
