I have never dreamed of such a good thing before.”
Wang Guoqing, a middle-aged man, lived on the towering Qinglong Mountain with more than 20 villagers from FanXi or Qinglongkeng Village and made a living by planting mountain tea. At first, the villagers walked up and down the mountain on a narrow path less than one meter wide. In Wang Guoqing's memory, his relatives and friends who used to drink five or six bottles of beer at a wedding banquet would drink only one bottle because they knew that it took great efforts to carry them up a steep two-hour trek.
Later, the local government made every effort to widen the path to more than two meters and paved it with cement. However, it is still very inconvenient for the elderly to get medical treatment and for children to go to school. The villagers have been dreaming of building houses down the mountain.
Here comes the good news in 2019, the Fuliang county government signed an investment cooperation agreement with Jingdezhen Taowen Tourism Group to revitalize the Diwan village. Based on the good ecological resources of Xihu town, the project plans to invest 4.2 billion yuan to create a national demonstration project of rural revitalization integrating industry integration, mountain sports, sightseeing, research and innovation, vacation and recreation, etc.
The project has also covered the towering Qinglong Mountain. The cooperator, Fuliang Diwan Rural Revitalization company, purchased the mud houses of Wang Guoqing and other villagers to benefit the people. Investment of 1.1 billion yuan in new farm housing, demonstration housing, and other projects in the Qinglong mountain opened the prelude to construction. On May 10, the reporter saw at the scene more than 700 rows upon rows of townhouses hidden in the green mountains and clear water, magnificent. And here, in the west Lake township, hundreds of alpine tea farmers' new houses.
With the development of the Fuliang Diwan rural revitalization project, the villagers have one good news after another. Wang Guoqing told reporters that due to the remote location of Xihu town, the villagers lack market information and sales channels, often hard planting Gaoshan tea sales difficulties, and tea leaves rotting in the tea garden is a common thing. Now, it is directly purchased by Fuliang Diwan Rural Revitalization and sold after finishing; the added value of the products has been significantly improved. Not only do the villagers not have to worry about the sale of fresh tea leaves, but the price is more than 20% higher than the original.
Sheng Xinhua, a local official from Xihu town, told us that while developing tourism, Fuliang Diwan Rural Revitalization company also adopts the cooperation model of "company + cooperative + farmers" to drive cooperatives and farmers to carry out large-scale agricultural operations, vigorously carry out comprehensive rural development and ecological agriculture construction, and form a win-win situation with local farmers. The development momentum of agricultural planting, livestock breeding, flowers and seedlings and other industries is promising, driving nearly 1,000 villagers to increase their income and get rich every year. "In 2021, the per capita net income of farmers in Xihu Township has increased from 7,945 yuan in 2018 to 12,772 yuan. The Fuliang Diwan Rural Revitalisation Development Project has successfully activated a pool of spring water in Xihu Township, turning green water and green mountains into golden mountains."
